FULL MOON LUNAR ECLIPSE in AQUARIUS: Aug 7, 2017 @ 2:10pm at 15 degrees

Blame it on a simple twist of fate… One of the many reasons I appreciate Bob Dylan lyrics is they tell a tale of truth revealing a soulful expressions of our inner experience. Joseph Campbell describes it as the Hero’s Journey. Each of us has a specific story that our life wants to express and all our stories, when woven together, take on a similar pattern or theme and when they are shared they become symbolically mythical by nature. Meaning we each relate to the stories since we have similar threads woven through the fabric of our personal lives.

We are all living a myth or mythos, a recurring narrative that expresses a similar truth. Today’s Lunar Eclipse just might bring this fated narrative to the forefront of our lives; teaching us how to extract from the story the deeper wisdom our soul is ready to accept and integrate. Eclipses amplify, intensifying our personal drama, giving us the opportunity to see and understand how the fated experience informs our destiny (life purpose). Since this full moon lunar eclipse is linked to the south node whatever is revealed or highlighted will likely be associated with the past and will call forth a release, the need to LET GO in order to step into the future with more harmony and connection.

Full moons illuminate subconscious patterns bringing to light what is habitual and potentially no longer serving our souls purpose toward future fulfillment. In many ways, this full moon eclipse is a pivotal point in our forward motion with an opportunity to access and transcend deep seated patterns that have kept us from claiming sovereign rulership over our lives. It also brings the knowledge of how our personal brilliance becomes a highlighted thread in the fabric of the collective evolution.

Aquarian’s are known for their ability to think ahead and are often pioneering the future. They also have the ability to be detached sustaining a level of equanimity. This sense of neutrality keeps them on the periphery of groups and yet they understand the value and need for inter-connectedness. They are intellectually willing to understand their own emotional nature in order to best participate in and influence the collective values. We are truly learning how to integrate the Leo/Aquarius aspects of our being by letting go of the dramas and stories of the past that do not serve future evolution both as individuals and as a group.

Overall, these are very exciting times… Uranus, the ruling planet of Aquarius known for its liberating effects, is transiting through the sign of Aries and plays a key role in these eclipses. Uranus can strongly impact our nervous system especially when moving through the fire sign of Aries (not to mention the Sun/Mars conjunction) so we may be feeling somewhat electrical…we can utilize these currents of energy to empower us, releasing patterns that inhibit the true expression of ourselves. As Michael Meade so eloquently states, when we are feeling most limited is often when we are closest to the thread that will transcend it. If we can accept the limitation we can find the thread of destiny through the twist of fate.

Friendships or groups of people will also play a role in this lunation mirroring what is in or out of balance and what needs to be harmonized. Pay attention to how you are relating and reacting to others and always choose a liberating path. It is often suggested that big decisions NOT be made during eclipses. So, it may be wise to hold off until the energies have settled and all the information is revealed before drawing any conclusions.

All new beginnings must first have an ending. The ending inevitably informs the beginning and our attitude (or state of consciousness) in the letting go process becomes the soil which will cultivate the seeds of our rebirth. In yoga, we realize that harmony in all things is inevitable and that balance within is the ultimate goal. With love, beauty and grace we step into the future with more freedom, fluidity, awareness, and trust in ourselves than ever before.
