“A fully blossomed human potential is enlightenment. It is becoming a child again and coming back to your original nature.” ~ Ravi Shankar

NEW MOON ECLIPSE in VIRGO: Sep 1, 2016 @ 5:03 am EST at 5 degrees.

Hold on to your seats… Eclipse season is here. We are in the process of becoming human and remembering what it means to be alive and unified. And, lucky for us Virgo influence is all about humility, process, and purification. Eclipses have long been recognized as extra potent lunations that often come with fateful twists and this particular twist relates to the Virgo-Pisces polarity and the connection/conflict between matter and spirit, prakriti and purusha, reality and illusion.

This new moon eclipse has everything to do with what we “think” and the force or prana (spiritual energy) behind it. Our very nature of being human, in essence, is to balance our relationship between the outer and inner world, the seen and unseen, and our conscious and subconscious.

The fateful quality of this cycle is enhanced by a Moon/Sun conjunction to the North Node and is tinged with foreshadowing. Pay close attention to what symbols are rippling through your life experience these next few days and take note. North Node in Virgo points us to the future through daily devotion and purity of mind. What is showing up will likely show us what is ready to be cleared, released, and where we are ready to align.

Our mind (Mercury) is the messenger of Atma, or spirit. Mercury in Greek mythology is the messenger of the gods and its main objective in yoga, being associated with the Vishuddha Chakra, is purity. Purity of mind, body, and speech. Mercury, as the ruling planet of Virgo, began it’s retrograde cycle on Aug 30 only days prior to this eclipse and is exactly conjunct Jupiter in Virgo. Don’t be surprised if there are some miscommunications involving too much information, righteousness, judgments, criticism, or an overload of details. And, it may be something that scratches at an old wound (Chiron opposition). Jupiter expands and brings positive vitality to whatever it touches and it’s been working overtime in the sign of Virgo since August of last year. Ultimately, to serve the good or suffer the result – this is not about perfection, but rather, our focused and thoughtful day to day intention.

There is no question that Virgo themes are the focus of September. Specifically a review, reassessment, re-evaluation, re-membering of what and to whom we are truly devoted. [To see what area of your life this retrograde cycle will be impacting look to see what house(s) Virgo 14-29 lies in.] Mercury rules our mental process and our verbal communication. Both of which are a form of communion with Self. Our every expression, thought, and spoken word is a message leading us into alignment with our personal expression of divinity. From Aug 30-Sep 22 we’ll have an opportunity to reassess these processes and clarify our devotion.

This lunation is opposing Neptune making it an excellent time to witness and potentially break out of habits related to avoidance, escapism, and to let go of any fantasies that bind us to an illusive reality. And, to begin living the dream of divine, of god. This requires trusting in a divine plan and believing in the matrix of life and its cosmological nature. Most habits stem from a subconscious patterning or deeply embedded belief system and with a square to Saturn in Sagittarius where we’ve been stripping away false beliefs about ourselves and our ideals we will definitely get more realistic with our goals and how our day to day focus supports that vision. However, be aware of insecurities, rising guilt, or shame and watch the nature of mind and its clinging tendencies that may want to sustain faith in what no longer supports us.

The Moon/Sun are also square to Mars in Sagittarius so be cautious of reactivity or off the cuff decisions. There may be an urge to initiate, push forward, or force an action to obtain what one believe’s is right. Taking the necessary time to understand what we are faithful to and why will assist in discerning “right action”. Mars is a double edged sword that has the potential to slice through what we really wish to preserve. Take the Virgo route… slow down, sleep on it, ask for help, stay present, and pray.

Virgo is an earth sign and she embodies the practical. Her qualities are best seized in the day to day agenda and the details of what needs to be done. She is analytical, precise and discerning in her thought process and at times critical and relentless. We utilize these qualities to be responsible for our dream. When we make decisions or take actions out of alignment with our highest presence we choose to live in denial of our truth. We deceive ourselves. No more deception, no more disillusionment. Let the purity of our heart speak and the clarity of our mind sustain. Purity speaks volumes…clear, concise, and undeniable.

INTENTIONS
As we all know, what we intend we create, therefore I highly encourage taking time to set intentions for this lunation… meditate and reflect upon what is ready to be released and cleared in order to live more purely and BE more present and honest with ourselves. Complete this sentence: I AM BECOMING… (ex. more and more refined every day…or, more and more committed….or, more and more focused… you get the idea.) And then, repeat it daily throughout this lunation…see what happens.

RITUAL PRACTICE
Virgo is about our day to day beingness – our devotional approach to being present and in focused alignment with our dreams. It’s remembering to take time for daily sadhana and being disciplined regarding our personal health and spiritual practices so that we can be better servants to our relationships, our communities, our world.

Suggested mantra for quieting, neutralizing, and detaching from chitta or chattering of the mind (the memory) – NETI NETI NETI meaning I’m not this thought, I’m not that thought, I’m not thought.

COSMIC BLESSING
May the blessings we bestow unto life reflect back to us in infinitude. We are returning to our innocence, our purity… becoming the star we seek, lighting up the cosmos, and bringing to form all the wonders we imagine.
