A heroic act is one of implicit authenticity and is charged with all the energy of our hearts greatest longing. With six planets in retrograde and the Sun ruling this lunation the heroism of this eclipse is based in our ability to unite with our true nature by resolving any conflict that prevents us from being free.
The price of freedom is claiming responsibility for EVERYTHING in our consciousness and readily harmonizing all aspects of ourselves. Heroism has no personal ego involvement in its quest to be brave in the face of conflict. Bravery means being honest, not willful….being calm, not angry… being vulnerable, not armed… being gentle, not forceful… being understanding, not righteous. And, these past few months posed countless opportunities to resolve the inner resistance and end the conflict. Many of us have been tested to the core.
RESISTANCE depletes energy causing instability which can produce a lack of integrity. Acceptance increases energy and strengthens our fortitude.
The recent total Lunar Eclipse in Aquarius was about letting go of anything that keeps us in a state of resistance. All the subconscious patterns, old ways of doing things, outdated perceptions of reality that limit us, consume our energy or hold us back from living a life of harmony, freedom, and connection.
Essentially, all of nature especially the seemingly opposite forces are in constant collaboration – in connection. When we reject any aspect of our reality we create discord. Denial in any form creates inner conflict? A lack of acceptance of life as it is or of circumstances as they arise creates an incongruency, and thus, a feeling of separation within us.
As we choose to let go of what isn’t working and modifying our state of mind we create opportunities for true alchemy to occur. This generous act of adapting to life rather than attempting to control it opens our hearts and creates more space to receive. The more receptive we are the more expansive we become. Mars retrograde is teaching us to see all sides of the situation and to refrain from reacting to the impulse of irritation, anger, and frustration.

What does it mean to be heroic? How does it feel? To be seen or acknowledged as a hero isn’t always enough, we often need to feel like a hero in our own hearts.
This New Moon Solar Eclipse in Leo is calling for a dramatic new way of confidently expressing ourselves. I have no doubt that whatsoever you are being called to take leadership of, that you are confronting the task(s) with devoted strength and undying loyalty. By embodying the Leo energies we become royalty – kings and queens of our own reality. And, in doing so, we freely share the charm, vibrancy, playfulness, grace, and esteem that inspires others to do the same.
It’s not always easy to do what is right or to honor ourselves in a valuable way. Finding the courage to speak up and share truths without hurting others is an art we craft over time. Conscious living is a practice and it commands that we be sovereign over our experiences today and every day, no matter what!
