FULL MOON in AQUARIUS: Aug 18, 2016 @ 4:26am at 25 degrees
Full moons fulfill what new moons promise and today’s Aquarius Full Moon (and partial lunar eclipse) is culminating out of the Leo New Moon which was initiated on Aug 2 when our inner lion(ess) roared with the intention of transformation and cultivation of Solid Gold alchemy. We are being called up to the most royal, illustrious, and elevated expressions of ourselves and learning to lead our lives in the best way possible as co-creators of our collective experience.
Aquarius is an air sign with a highly intellectual frame of reference, it is also fixed with a steady conviction to serve the community at large through its unique visionary viewpoint. Aquarius nature is highly independent and readily contemplates freedom from any and all limitation. And, liberation is a key with Uranus, the ruling planet of Aquarius, directly linked to both luminaries; trine the Sun and sextile the Moon. These are aspects of awakening. And, in order to truly “wake up” one must see through the many veils of illusion, we must be willing to accept what is, far beyond our personal (and often subconscious) needs and desires.
This great awakening exceeds our ability to accept life, people, or circumstance as they are. That which truly liberates us lies in our ability to discern when and how we must change our perspective and attitude (sometimes radically so) in order to shift how we respond to life. We live in a responsive world based on cyclical patterns of repetition and we develop reactions for coping with specific patterns from a very young age, creating memories. These patterns extend into all areas of our lives and specifically through the conditioning of our families, culture, and society.
The subconscious is highly impacted by this conditioning and it communicates through the use of symbols (often and most effectively utilized in the news media, films, and advertising). These symbolic images leave impressions that trigger automatic responses, based on conditioning. This automatic response of our subconscious nature is exactly what’s ready to be liberated.
With an inconjunct (a Saturn aspect) to Mercury and Jupiter, we get a glimpse at what limiting thoughts and beliefs must be redeemed in order to obtain the liberation we seek. True freedom comes when we choose to let go. The question we ask: what then do we hold on to? What is it that we let go of? Letting go may indicate a relationship, a career, a home, a habit… but more than likely the bold move this lunation is eliciting is the release of a specific state of consciousness. In other words, righteousness, anger, resentment, fear, judgments, criticisms, and so on… all the ideas and mental processes that prevent us from living free.
Bold moves are the actions required to cultivate practices/disciplines in our creation of a new story. When we shift the yantra or shape of our lives we shift our experience – the memory and the pattern by which we understand and make meaning of our existence. It’s through this radical shift in our frequency that aligns us more holistically with our true sense of purpose, in doing so we become a servant to our global community and the vision of unifying that which is seemingly divided.
Moksha brings to light all the shadows, all the phases of our experience, and all aspects of our consciousness. There is no doubt we are waking up and we rapidly increase this evolutionary process by choosing in every thought, word, and action to live free!
