NEW MOON in CANCER SOLAR ECLIPSE: July 12, 2018 @ 10:47pm EST at 20 degrees
Eclipse season is here and the Cancer state of consciousness initiates the movements of change calling us forth to revolutionize our emotional attachments. Cancer represents our feelings, intuition, security, our homes, families, and our roots. The moon is the ruler of Cancer and symbolizes the emotional currents perpetuating deep seeded habits and patterns that are woven through our lives.
This eclipse has the power to resolve those subconscious reactions of defensiveness, insecurity, emotional overwhelm, neediness, change-resistance, dependency, and fears to a more empowered, secure, protected, stable, courageous and conscious space of transformation. Pluto stands firm in Capricorn opposite the Moon/Sun with the power to transmute the most crystallized aspects of ourselves while sustaining that which is essential in upholding individual authority.
Change is forthcoming… Cancer energy tends to cling, and thus, this lunation will encourage us to let go, let go, let go. And then, let arise. Eclipses, having been studied for thousands of years, are known as gateways that typically coincide with fateful events directing us toward greater harmony and inner balance. Nature readily seeks balance and with an eclipse immersed in the highest lunar state of consciousness on the chakric tree of life (the Ajna Chakra) we sort through all that is relevant to moving forward and all that must be eliminated to become sovereign over our individual reality, specifically our emotional intelligence.
This series of eclipses coincide with the Mars Rx cycle and the inner conflict we’ve been resolving since earlier this year. The more aware we become of the conflict within and any resistance (the blockages) we may have that inhibit maturation and interdependence, the freer we can be to move forward with confidence and trust. This lunation may manifest what feels like an opposing force which is ultimately showing up to help us see the inner conflict ready to be resolved.
It is the perfect time to set intentions for the next six months to a year and recognize what must be released in order to act in alignment with those intentions. The next few weeks will be specifically focused on the release of and coming to terms with our emotional imbalances. From there we can choose the right actions necessary to resolve the inner conflict. The power of resolve is ours to claim.
In closing, I’ll share a brief passage from my beloved guru, Sri Goswami Kriyananda describing a concept I’ve been contemplating for some time. I feel we are on the brink of shifting that which keeps us (as both individuals and a collective) psychologically locked into old paradigms.
“The so-called logic that defines most cultures is destructive to spiritual growth.
To be successful you need to isolate yourself psychologically from the competitive aspects of society. Competition whether it is with another or within one’s self, is unhealthy. It is a direct cause of the insanity we see around us. What we see externally is merely a reflection of what we have rejected internally. The early stages of the path involve the balancing and re-integration of those aspects of self that have been denied. You need to look and act human before you can become a god. If you are not authentically human, you will be out of sync with your world and it will eventually destroy you.”
