FULL MOON in SCORPIO: Apr 29, 2018 @ 8:56pm EST at 9 degrees

In claiming our true power we assert mastery over self. Self-mastery cultivates personal responsibility and unity which leads to Victory. The changes this full moon compel (initiated by the New Moon in Aries) are meant to transform the ego drives by uplifting and aligning our personal desires and willpower with the will of life divine.

There are some intense forces at work here with Pluto beginning its retrograde phase and forming a conjunction to Mars in Capricorn this past week. Both planets rule over Scorpio and when together are a force to be reckoned with. This is strong initiating energy and we may feel an increase in our drive for power and authority.

Hidden emotions are likely to surface and an intense need to take charge or be in control is strong. When we feel deeply we often expose vulnerabilities. Perceiving these feelings as a weakness or insecurity may elicit an out of control quality. These strong emotions create a force which will do anything to reclaim itself. Showing up in the form of manipulation, defensiveness, power struggles, possessiveness, or jealousy. The key here is to draw power from the core, to extract the wisdom or essence of the feeling to transform and empower ourselves. As we dive uninhibitedly into our emotions we penetrate unresolved pain.

Emotions run high during all full moons but when it comes to Scorpio we are most likely dealing with those that have been hidden or repressed. Emotions surfacing now are arising to be purified and resolved. It requires tremendous fortitude to hold space for emotional surges and allow ourselves to feel without judgment; to be a container for transformation. With the strong and positive links the Sun and Moon have with Saturn we have the capacity to endure even beyond a previous threshold.

We are innately rooted in nature, which means we are ever changing, ebbing and flowing, waxing and waning, the more comfortable we are with these fluctuations without reacting the more power we cultivate toward self-mastery, clear perspectives, and enlightenment. With Uranus influencing the entirety of this lunar cycle, we are poised for an inner revolution. Radical shifts are sometimes necessary to engage with the impending changes we meet on the horizon of our deepest longings and desires. The taste of freedom is one thing, living freely is altogether another.

We will inevitably take a look at our innermost desires and what drives us. Coming to recognize whether we can trust our motivations or not. Mars, when focused, can produce immense power and when we claim our full value and combine it with the resources of others we create a new kind of collaborative power. This lunation encourages this type of connection. We must first possess the fullness of ourselves before we can possess the full power of being united with another.

Remember these cycles are always leading us home, toward our destiny (Sun/Moon T-square Nodes) and each lunation holds the potential to draw us toward greater illumination. With self-awareness comes the power of self-realization.
